Mr. Roger Widicus

Trumpeter Roger Widicus is a 30-year member of the New Jersey Wind Symphony, and has been their principal cornet for more than a decade. Over the years, he has performed on trumpet, cornet and/or piccolo trumpet with a variety of ensembles in the metropolitan area, including Imperial Brass, Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Adelphi Orchestra, Ridgewood Symphony, Livingston Symphony Orchestra, Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, Summit Symphony Orchestra, Greater Newburg Symphony Orchestra, and The SymphoNYChorus.

In addition to his many orchestral credits, Roger frequently performs as a church soloist, in the holiday brass choir, and in oratorio orchestras, as well as at local events as a soloist or as part of an ensemble.

As an educator, Roger has taught one-on-one trumpet lessons to numerous private students during his career, and he has served as a brass coach with the Bergen Youth Orchestra.

Roger holds a degree from the University of Illinois, where he studied trumpet with David Hickman and Ray Sasaki.
