Mr. Dan Willis
Dan Willis, one of New York City's most active and versatile woodwind specialists, performs regularly across a wide spectrum of music from Jazz and Classical to Broadway and Pop. Dan has been been a regular addition to the NJ Symphony Orchestra, NY Pops, NY Philharmonic, St. Luke’s Orchestra, NYC Ballet and Brooklyn Philharmonic. He has performed in 25 Broadway shows including current TONY nominated “Back To The Future”.
He has toured world wide with Michael Brecker's 'Quindectet', The Birdland Big Band, Don Henley, and Liza. He has performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Trisha Yearwood and arranged for Rap group Bone, Thugs N Harmony. Dan is also a member of the Roland Vasquez Big Band and John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble. He is also a frequent collaborator to the Baby Einstein Music Education Series.
Dan can also be heard on hundreds of TV jingles (The Price Is Right, Monday Night Football, South Park) soundtracks and recordings including the Grammy Award winning- Rob Thomas, West Side Story, The Book of Mormon and Kinky Boots. Dan is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Dr. Richard Killmer, Dr. Ramon Ricker, Ray Wright and Bill Dobbins. Mr.Willis is also the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Study Grant.
